About

My name is Will May, I’m a software developer living and working in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

I’ve been developing software for a long time, since 1988 but developing software professionally since 1993.  I first started writing software like a lot of people in Basic, then structured languages like Pascal and moving into C/C++/MFC.  Currently I’m most in love with Java and my professional career centers around Java development.

I don’t have any web development experience, I’ve dabbled in PHP and HTML but I don’t have the ‘artistic flair’ required to be very good at it.  People underestimate how important it is in web type languages to be artistic, in that being able to visualize what you want to see and to work around the language to get what you want done.

My current interests are:

  • Technology
  • Software development
  • hardware/device control/SCADA
  • gadgets
  • MMA/UFC
  • Snowboarding

Feel free to use the contact form at the top of the page to send me a message.

You can follow me on Twitter to find out what I’m most interested in.. right now..
